Surprising what you see in Scotland

Why? I suppose he could of called it after a population group. I'll look for the next superyacht called Kydaar after the indigenous group north of the Vaal plateau. In the multiverse such a boat is inevitable

Interesting

Several different spellings kaydaar, k’daar, kydar, kyk-daar which is afrikaans and has a meaning of "look there", nothing to be with any indigenous group north of the Vaal. The derivation is more likely is "look there someone from inland"

This is considered as a form of derivative term for someone from inland (tourists ), a more common term is Vaalie meaning someone from the old province of the Transvaal (over/past the vaal river). Of course the highveld does extend both sides of the vaal river and the orange river all across the Karoo

There was someone on the forum who maned their yacht "simunye" which means "we are one" in zulu.

I like yacht names which have some interesting meaning of derivation. Hence my interest.

The word Nboni is an interesting name for a boat as it refers to a group of people of an ethnic group living in the present-day Southern African countries of Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Zambia.

The Ngoni trace their origins to the Nguni and Zulu people of kwaZulu-Natal in South Africa.

It also refers to a kind of traditional african drum.

So I wander how the yacht got its name.
When the Yacht arrive in Loch Hourn in appalling weather Also known as Loch Hell he must have thought of the fukarwe tribe

Well, mine is Amanzi, but that is not unusual. I had played with usapile inja in honour of the Volvo Penta's but being pragmatic amanzi is where she will likely end. Maybe I should have called her Ukuminza. Motor boats eh.

Yes either could be appropriate for a boat name but the latter may be chancing it at bit
