Surf's up in the Medway?

I'd read that and thought the same. Usual old YBW 'News' twaddle, isn't it.
Maybe they were mucking about and did too tight a turn and swamped themselves? It was apparently newly-owned.

And why "RHIB"? Don't most people use "RIB"?

I think it is more accurate. "Rigid hulled inflatable boat " as against, "Rigid inflatable boat". There is a huge difference but lots of people think that an inflatable is a RIB! I even questioned a seller who thought that RIB stood for "Rubber inflatable boat"

Just another example of why you take your life your hands venturing anywhere in the Thames esturary.
Boaters from elsewhere stay away. ? :)

Anyone know any more about this?

I know it is possible to get a bit of wind over tide off Kingsnorth but waves swamping a 6m RHIB.... ?

Some of the commercial traffic or fast mobos can kick up a big wake. It does say their first trip out, so their lack of experience may have put them too close behind something and slowed suddenly when they saw the wake dipping the nose into it.

Hang on a Mo,this is 20ft long rib, normally powered by some monster outboard or two. Probably as big as some of the RNLI inshore rigs.
...and it got swamped in the Medway near Kingsnorth . ?????
Who wrote this one up ...Donald Trump :)
Perhaps if it was powered by a Silver Century, mebbe .
