Surely time to bin anything from Samsung?

Apple have form on this; they sued HP on the 'look and feel' of their desktops, conveniently forgetting that Xerox developed it at PARC in the first place.

Perhaps you might reflect that a British judge chucked out 4 patents from Apple as they were either obvious or not proven. The US courts differ on the same patents.

So to stop Samsung from using evidence would seem to be an abuse of process, and I dont blame Samsung for putting the evidence in the public domain

My wife was due a phone upgrade, I had been considering swapping my Iphone 4 for a Samsung Galaxy. She took my phone and I got the Galaxy.

I wanted a phone with more user options, upgradable memory and easier file transfer (No Itunes !) Apple have too many restrictive practices IMHO, BUT! the iphone was a nice product to use.

Currently replying to this thread on my Samsung Tab 2, it's quicker, has more memory, cheaper apps and looks great. It's also cheaper than the ipad .

I won't be throwing it away this.

Sitting here tapping this on my Samsung Laptop, with 3 Samsung phones. IN the last 3 years they have had the best product at the best price. Interestingly until I bought my tablet where Archos (who??) made something that ticked the box's cheaper...

It could be argued that before the iPhone Apple didnt have a mobile phone, so from who did they copy with that idea, eh?

If I where Sony Ericsson I would be jumping in on the act. They had a couple of phones that where way ahead of there time the software & technology just where not there...

Still have my SE900 huge battery life just a bit slow no 3g oh and terrible phone reception but way ahead of its time as a smart phone and not THAT dissimilar without keyboard...

Apple's current products are impressive in their look & feel and their designs are doubtless impressive.
However Steve Jobs could be pretty ruthless and that reflects in Apple's approach to keeping customers within the 'Apple Product Circle' and also their approach towards competitors.

Back in the 1990's, they were up sh*t street. They were getting hammered by Microsoft and their company/product structure was leading them to the brink of bankruptcy. Back then I was supporting the 'underdog' to turn things around.
Jobs did this with the iMac, ipod and the such, with amazingly impressive results.

However, Apple are now back in a dangerous position, trying to stifle all that gets in its way.

Hopefully someone with eyes will read the post. How obvious does it need to be?

Not a PBO thread so hopefully the mods will move it.

It needs to be a lot more obvious for you apparently. This conveniently ignores all the phones that were rectangles with rounded off edges to them more comfortable that were available before the iPhone and also ignores all the phones that came after the iPhone that didn't look anything like the iPhone (which were the ones that made the money and sold the most ironically). Samsung didn't release anything into the public domain here at all - everything they published was already in the public domain but was ruled inadmissible as evidence for some bizarre reason. As the jurors are forbidden from accessing anything related to the trial whilst on service it can't affect the case (unless the jury are cheating, in which case it should be a mis-trial anyway). Incidentally, if you're going to bin everything from Samsung you'll find your iPhone (what's left of it) doesn't work very well.

It really does beggar belief that someone can claim a rectangle with rounded off edges is their unique idea. But then look how football got stolen by FIFA and the Olympics by the IOC.

I do not understand this "put this in the lounge" situation.

I am willing to bet that a vast number of people on this forum use either Apple or Samsung products on their boats as tools for email, weather and navigation.

We often see threads about tools, like scrapers, vacuums, pumps etc that might be used by a minority but no one seems to mind them. I have no need for an electric scraper from Lidl but if someone wants to post about it that's fine with me.

Practical Boat Owner's Reader to Reader - Share practical, hands-on information
Yachting Monthly's Scuttlebutt - Chat about cruising, debate this month's hot topic,
The Lounge - Place your non-boaty views, observations, ramblings, rants, jokes and banter here

Does that help?

Not at all. There are loads of "which phone or which tablet" threads in the first two. Let alone the ones prefaced "non boaty".

You must surely appreciate that winding up non-Apple users is a sport for me that is second only to winding up Dylan. ;)
