Hi All,

I need a piece of teak faced marine ply about 2 foot x 1 foot to make a new instrument panel behind my chart table.

Can anyone recomend a woodyard between South East London and Chichester that will sell me this.

Thanks

You could try K J Howells ( http://www.gmb91.dial.pipex.com/ -sorry I don't know how to make it a live link) they're in Poole but they deliver. I've had some teak bits from them and they're very helpful and prompt. There's a catalogue on their website that lists teak faced ply among their products.

good luck

David

I picked up some teak faced marine ply from Champions. 8x4 sheet for about 60 quid I think. I thought a bit expensive, but I don't buy it often so......
They didn't have it in stock but had it the next day.

Ordered mine at New Malden but had to pick it up from the little Wimbledon branch. Wasn't too bad as I was up that way looking in on my mum.

Have a look in the phone book for your local branch, don't know if theres one in SE london. If your Dulwich way you could try Merton Timber over that way.

Thanks all, there's a Champion Timber in Bromley which will sort me out. Also found their website if its any help to anyone.

Howells seem to have some nice products, will check them out next time I'm at Cobb's Quay.

I need to do the same - but have pulled back from paying the amount necessary to buy a whole sheet when I only need a couple of 2' x 3' sections.

PM me if you fancy spreading the cost of a sheet - I'd need 12mm.

Regards, Jeff.

just make sure it is marine ply, or at least WBP as a lot of these faced plys are interior quality and will delaminate quite quickly if used outside.

not in the skip unfortunately. The offcut rack more likely and they could be unwilling to sell because its still of more use to them than the small amount you'd pay.

I would also recommend trying Howells. It might be even be cheaper to get them to make up what you want. Good value and good service for teak stuff.

Will prolly get some new washboards from then this winter.
