Super tough teak deck alternative

My boat needs to have its teak decks replaced. This weeked in St. Vaast I saw a German boat with a deck that can only be described as having a concrete tough feel but a teak look. I believe the chap mentioned it was applied by Amel yachts in France. I'm not crazy about the plastic teak alternatives but this stuff looked good and was really solid.
Anyone have an idea what it is?

Thanks.

Amel has an in-house finish (bit like South Hants Marine used to have with the SHE range). I agree with Englander - it doesn't look good.

Been down the road of replacing a teak deck myself, and I concluded more teak (unfortunately) was the best solution. Since then (4 years back), the placcy teak may have got better.

Some of the very new placky teak doesnt look half bad, they make it to look a lot more like real wood, but it's still placky and it sticks out like a dogs balls!
It will never look or age like wood. Sorry if I ruffle a few feathers with that statement, but that's the way I see it.

Indeed, I have flexiteek on my deck, it looks great while I'm out sailing and needs very little maintenance but it does look a little odd in a marina, when viewed against boats with real teak. It does darken also.
A worrying development: I've recently noticed that in a few places mine has parted from the GRP deck, puffed up egg-like (four places, each about 1.5 inch dia) in the summer heat (oh ok just one hot day in Ramsgate), I have still to take up this issue with the fitters. I'm sure it can be cut, lifted and re-glued but as I'm off to the med with the boat in the near future I'm a little worried about this happening all over in the heat down there....... Has anyone else who has flexiteek fitted had this problem? I've googled but found nothing.

I'll post my experiences BTW, good or bad with the fitters and their response when I have more info.
