Super Glue

Whilst at the LIBS I saw a demonstration at one of the side stalls for a 'Loctite -type' super glue. ( It appeared to be better than Loctite) It was terrific, it instantly bonded glass, metal, rubber, wood, pvc etc. I was on my way to the NASA stand and intended to return and buy some of this product. Senility won the day and I forgot to go back and purchase.
Would anyone know of this or a very similar product ??

Talking of which, did anyone buy any of this glue? I was also impressed by the demonstration, and also forgot to return, so would be interested to know if it really does do what it says on the bottle.

Be warned, I hear that the fumes can cause loss of memory.

I bought a tub. Key things are to keep it in the fridge and put a sealing of polythene (plastic carrier bag, not cling film) between the bottle and the top. Bang the bottle on the bottom first to shake any glue back into the bottle. The man said it was would last years if I was careful with it. You may have to bring it back up to room temperature for good adhesion. website is www.hafixs.co.uk. They do mail order. I have not used it, but I have a low opinion of most superglues. This may be better than Loctite. Acetone (nail varnish remover)cleans it off fingers.

I think we are talking at X purposes here. The stuff I saw at LBS was definately Eurobond. It doesn't need refrigeration, and will not dry out (so it says)

I ended up buying the kit for use in the Spring. It came with a free glue and granular filler, which are for use at home. Much better than tape on the remotes.

Hi - yes is is the HAFIXS glue. And yes is brilliant...."Aint glue brilliant!". I went up to my boat at the weekend to fix a sealer that had come loose & it did the job. Was a little worried about sticking my fingers to it though! I keep looking for things to glue....sad little life that I lead!

I too went to the LIBS- but I distinctly remember 2 different stalls selling superglue-type adhesives; one of them was almost in a corner of the North hall, being demonstrated alongside some sort of "no-sucking required" syphoning device, a small metal thingy on the end of a few feet of transparent plastic hose, being shaken up & down to transfer some pink liquid between buckets: does this ring any bells?
Anwyway, the glue off this stall ISN'T Haxnix, it's something called Pascofix (see www.pascofix.nwy.at) and was indeed offered with optional granular filler. I know all this 'cos I fell for the sales patter: as soon as I've tried it, I'll tell you about it, so WATCH THIS SPACE!
