Sunseeker san remo 35 stiff steering issue

Hi does any body have any information on the steering system on a san remo 35 Sunseeker as my steering went stiff all of a sudden whilst on a journey recently does any one know if it runs on a servo or hydraulic etc or common cause for this

If engines are Volvo 41s on stern drive, your first option is that power steering belt is gone and you need to change it.

Yeah. Check the power steering belt, oil level and pump in that order.

Have you greased the steering pin to the yoke lately? Salt crystals form in there and seize up the bushing making it quite stiff.

hi thanks for the feedback, engines are kad 42s so no belt, I will give the grease nipple a whirl see if that helps and check the resevoiur level failing that am i right in thinking i migth need a new cable.

If you have not got a belt then thats the problem! normally on stb eng

No ive never had a belt that drives the steering since ive owned it, starboard or port so it aint that any other ideas gents.
