sunseeker on BBC2

I thought SS came across very well and recognised a few staff from Sunseeker .France .
Robert B actually came over to shake my hand 11 y ago when I viewed at the factory and bought a 37 ftr ,then the smallest in the range to 37 M then .
He said "Thankyou for buying one of my boats "
They organised everything too -removed all the barriers to boat ownership -even arranged tutuition as I has never had a MoBo before -
That programme will not do them any harm ,indeed the oppersite it's introduced millions to Cote d Azur asperational boat ownership , a lifestyle that many none boaty folks probably did not know exists .
Well done BBC 2

Great show but just one episode? They could run to at least 4 X 1 hour....

Right I'm off to Amazon to order me some AK 47 standard lamps....

I'm with everyone else, i enjoyed the show too, good insight. The AK's were on Black Legend......was that the old BL they shown or the new one? Looked the same size as the one i asked about a few years ago here wondering if it was the casino owners?

Here it is in Villfranche end of Sept around when the film was made-it looked like the new one in the film .
It s a bit "marmite " but each to there own -I think it's a Sport Y 101 ?

Same here, the chap who was dealing with the client and all the changes seemed excellent, a real credit to SS.
Yes, I thought so too.
I did like the bit when they switched on the waterfall with its rather odd lighting, and the two of them stood there trying to think of something constructive to say !

Robert Braithwaite, John is his brother and was not in it as far as I could see.
Correct it was Robert -you never see the other john ,and when mentioned -they give a diplomatic - answer along the lines of he,s works in the production / factory ,back of house stuff.
How ever Robert used to be work a holic 1st in and last out even on Sunday , when the two bros ran it .
A very kind and polite boss who has the knack of making the customer feel special .

A very entertaining programming featuring a company, who are a credit to UK PLC.
All the people involved came over as enjoying their work and pleased to be involved with the building of the boats.
Company ethos really did appear to be "we are all in this together", including those at the very top and those pushng a hoover.

A good programme which showed a workforce in love with their jobs. Whilst I would agree with some of the comments about picky customers, if you are spending huge amounts of money you want it perfect. That said, the discussion over the marble was a bit contrived. They said that it would be changed at a cost of £100k, split between the owner and SS. At the end there was a edit to say that the client had agreed to take the original marble. Didn't think much of the water feature to be honest.

RB and all the non-sales workforce were great and deserve to do well. The sales force were the opposite and all seemed obsessed with their status, rather than the value they bring. SS are probably not alone there and many boat sales staff do seem to put me off their product. That is where RB shone through as it seems he can sell and is a decent bloke who seems genuinely interested in people.

I thought charter bloke came across OK as well, certainly better than his younger guests (his children?).

One MUST have a nice watch

Just watched it on catch up as I missed it last night. It made me proud to be British and am pleased to see Sunseeker doing well. Apart from an overwhelming feeling of some people have so much and some have so little I was wondering where the second hand market is for all these Super Yachts. It was said that the market is now for the mega rich and these people are I feel going to want to buy new most of the time. So who is going to be there to buy 'last years boat'............................. I know it isn't going to be me :)

I was interested to hear the reason for them dropping their smaller yachts. It really does show the disparity of wealth. That they can close a 30 million deal in a day but a 1 million deal can take two years plus. SS staff came across very well, but looked really stressed with resultant acne etc. It is a credit to them that they can deliver such a sterling service to what are extremely demanding customers and remain so accommodating. Cant be much fun being beaten by a stick from both sides to get a job done

as every first time visitor to Tokyo learns on day 1, not all the buttons on the side of the bowl flush the toilet.

If you happen to be standing when you push that button ....

Apparently the newer models have an infrared bottom-detector to avoid the fountain effect :)

Wow! Some picky customers
Beautiful carrerra Bianco marble basin 'not plain enough'......

I could see his point, actually. Streaky grey-green organic-looking material across your bathroom fittings - it looks like mould!

But then I've often thought that about figured marble used in such settings, so if it were me I wouldn't have specified it in the first place.

Yes I must admit I thought the SS Guy who featured the most looked extremely stressed
