Anyone had one? looking at 38ft as I like the walk through transom.
Volvo kad41 200/290dp Fuel tank range? any areas of concern?
any info appreciated

not had one, but I like the look of them. Overshadowed by carmagues and then predators as sunseeker ploughed upmarket. Nice smart details at the back. Blue hull option with leather inside makes this a nice family boat, quickish too. Best to be in the med, where it'll need a generator. Lop off the entire cost of a new generator fitted and working if it ain't got one.

Make damn sure the engines are in very fine fettle, a set of injectors for one of those engines is £900. The intercoolers have had problems and also turbos' plus the antismoke devices etc. Beautiful power boat though!

Hi Col,

Went out on one at So'ton Boat Show but I'm sure it had KAD42s.
However I thought it was v noisy w the hood n canopy up (naturally it was raining +++) but it may have been the superchargers only. It went quite well and bounced around nicely. Not really sure about the liveliness w only 200hp x 2.
Also, I know it is narrow and deep vee and Don Shead but I thought it seemed v narrow in the cockpit with the windscreen curving in. At that time we had a Fairline Targa 27 which had much more shoulder room and seemed to "breathe" much better when used as a day boat. Sure the Matinique is a different beast, extra cabin below, much bigger and probably much better through nasty seas but I didn't fancy it .

Yer pays yer money....

If it has a generator fitted right in the stern (as some of them do) then the 41's may be a bit underpowered. A friend has one of these and it does sometimes strugglr up on to the plane a bit. With the hood down it is a very quiet boat but like any boat with the hood up its noisey.

Like all sunseekers make sure that it hasn't been thrashed. One I looked at had split right around the hull on one of the knuckles after being abused in heavy weather.

IMHO if you like it buy it regardless of the comments here.

What do you mean " split around the knuckles "?
I have sea trialled one, without genny, performance seems ok for size of boat.
I find I am doing more and more mileage, so I want to sell petrol boat ( lots of fun, and quick with it ) I want diesels for lower running costs. I have been told to expect about 250 mile range, is this about right ?

By the knuckles I mean underneath the moulding that is half way up the hull sides where the hull has a step increase in width. I hope that this make sense.
