Hi all - recently discovered the black tank sensor on my Sunseeker Mustique 42 (1993) has completely corroded away.

Any ideas where I can get a replacement?

Just find out what type it is - it wont be a sun seeker part.

What sort of gauge do you have as that will give a clue. The gauge and sender are often from one supplier.

They come in differing lengths depending on the height of the tank as well so just knowing the brand may not help per se.

I got mine from Coastal Rides who carry all sorts of things like that.

Great thanks - I'll go down and measure it all/take some pics. (Luckily the tank is empty!) As it happens I mailed Coastal Rides an hour ago, no doubt they will ask what type it is too!

The gauge is a small black box with 3 leds and a push button on it.

Sounds like the Dometic system.

Does the sender have 3/4 pairs of wires coming out of the top and a white say 3 inch fitting on top?

If so you just need to get the correct height.

The only thing is they are 100% [plastic so maybe not as that cant corrode.

Now you worry me! It looked easy - lifted a floor panel and there it is...
We're changing the toilets to electric ones next week anyway so might as well.

Lots of bleach down it first though ;-)

I suppose.

1 you have to physically remove it. If it is just a floor panel you are most fortunate. I have never owned anything close to that it would be major surgery. This will also require all hoses that have been there for 20 years to be removed and most likely replaced

2 you have to now get large tank physically out of the boat which depending on doors may not be easy

3 you have to get a new one made and pay for it and install it with a new sender. Wire the gague etc

Why replace it. What is wrong with it!!
