Sunk!!

Seen just off Spit Sand fort off Portsmouth - Bank holiday monday - Estimate around 30' yacht sunk suspended on FORT!!! by Roller Reefing gear/Mast, Genoa unfurled.... - How did they do that?? Anybody else see it?......loads of boats around for Festival of the Sea - Unfortunetly didn't have camera handy....

Mark, I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt in thinking you're first instinct wasn't to think of reaching for a camera but to hope that there were no injuries to the skipper or crew of the unfortunate boat !!!!!

Yes, we saw it yesterday morning, but only the top of the mast and partially furled roller headsail were visible.. Any idea what happened?

Noticed an article in a local rag about it... haven't got it to hand but something about.... a 27 yr old skipper left it on autopilot & nipped downstairs for a pee - rigging got tangled in overhead gantry. Local authorities are considering prosecuting him.
