Following on from the Basking Shark sightings, another creature to look out for is the Sunfish.
I took these photos a few years ago in Falmouth bay, look for the flappy dorsal fin.

Saw one in Ballinskelligs Bay once; it just looked like a big floating blob and barely flapped about in a very desultory fashion - until we went over to touch it and it shot off quicker than a rat up a drain pipe
 
Saw one last Thursday on way back from Fowey. Also saw lots, and I really mean lots, of big jelly fish and in Fowey, some almost translucent small ones. Seems early but perhaps they've been blown in?
 
I saw the fin of one off St Alban's Head in September a few years ago. It was massive. We had to swerve to avoid hitting it.
