Ever heard of Robin Knox-Johnsons yacht Solihull....or catamaran ANSA???

Ansa i think was built in Exmouth and sailed my Peter Philips, going back to the 80's so could be mistaken. Think it may have broken up mid Atlantic when they were rescued by a cargoe ship?

Robin's boat was Suhaili, there used to be a bar at a pub on the harbour at Falmouth, called Suhaili Bar, in honour of his round the world trip in her.

Suhaili was in Plymouth last year in mountbatten marina. I stopped off to get some fuel when I saw her. She looked in good nick.

Suhaili was in St Katharine's Dock in London for a while, after Robin K-J bought her back from the then owner. She had deteriorated I believe, but then spent some time in the museum at Greenwich, before she was moved somewhere down south.

Did the RTI last year. Wasn't close enough to see if RKJ was aboard.

I was born in Solihull (yes, I really am posh). Don't remember seeing too many yachts there though.........

"I was born in Solihull" - not surprised you've moved to the Med then /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif I lived for a short while just off Lode Lane but haven't managed to get further away than S.Devon - and that's only during the good weeks.
