For anyone interested, here is a view from Spinnaker Tower of the fog bank rolling in yesterday...

SAS_1629.JPG

Once the initial deeper wave had passed the Roosevelt's mast top was just visible clearing the top of the bank.

We were outside in the garden having a BBQ when it started to come in around 4.00. We're not far from the shore, and it dropped several degrees in a very short time!

All night long the fog horns were blasting....it was quite strange knowing that the US carrier was sat hidden in the middle of the fog. Thank goodness nothing ran into it!

Cheers,
Paul

What an awsome picture. Shame it's not higher res.

We came back from Cowes about 3PM, the last bit along Southsea seafront and through the harbour felt like summer with the wind behind us. No sign of the fog.

We were coming back from the Warsash Sping Series and in 10 mins the visability went down to 50 yards. Some numpty went accross our bow on the plane!

Entered Portsmouth harbour alongside the Condor ferry and a Fast Cat just behind - slightly tense /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Needles was absolutely clear at 4.30pm Was sat fishing 40 yards off the shore

We were within spitting distance in Totland Bay - by 4pm the Solent seemed empty although from our spot couldn't see the fogbank until we had crossed back towards Hurst about 5pm.

Hope that you caught something decent for supper.
