We have found we need to undertake some works to a number of the rubbing timbers inside the New Lock chamber.
The works are required to rectify some areas which we would prefer to not leave until next winter , if not dealt with there is risk of potential damage to vessels and the health & safety of occupants, and possibly our own staff.
An opportunity has arisen to have a contractor here next week to deal with this.
The nature of the works do not necessitate a closure, but it would be most helpful if our customers could only use the Old Lock during this period.
We have arranged for Sunbury Lock site to be manned each day next week, as well as arranging local information there, at Molesey and Shepperton locks.
