Cheers Tom. I'm sure it isn't Weils but whatever it is this is a bitch of a virus. It's has had me in bed for two days with complete exhaustion. Just now I feel a bit better (ahhh...).

I think the severe tiredness plus mention of water is why they want to make sure it is not down to ratty.

i fear sunglasses wont help. i suspect the sun is spurious in this matter and that the ailment is little more than the onset of blindness secondary to activity associated with your musings over the dominant katie hopkins.

Oh God, sorry all, I have foolishly opened a portal to the lounge...

Its terrible I had to Google "Katie Hopkins", turned out she is not a boat (although she does not have bad lines), I am starting to wonder what happens over there in the lounge...

Hi Moxon, at a guess it's from working outside for 25 years, including lots of squinting into the sun looking for pot markers when I was younger.
I never realised, but I've always had fairly sensitive eyes and wear sunglasses A LOT now. The scarring was picked up during a routine test at an independent opticians, although I did warn them when I booked my appointment that it had been over 20 years since my last check up, so they may have been more thorough than usual. They also had me back a few days later to re-do tests that showed up anomalies that could have been glaucoma, but turns out I had just got tired during the test and wasn't paying attention!

Rayban type glasses are all well and good, but,I worry about glass lenses being used in sprots where 'stress/impact' damage can occur,
3M do very good plastic wraparound lensed safety glasses that protect against 'arc eye' etc

Well over a week ago I called the docs and spoke with the receptionist who said all the blood tests results were negative. Had a phone call from the docs today saying that although the test for Leptospirosis was negative I need to go back on Monday to give more blood, for another test, just to make sure.

I hope that's normal procedure...

Assuming you have had the standard "serology" tests, it can take up to 5 days for you to produce IgM (followed by IgG) antibodies in response to infection. This is what your body produces to fight infection. An early negative test, looking for antibodies in response to infection rather than infection itself, does not always mean "negative"; but the second set will almost certainly be negative! :)
They are just being thorough by repeating the test, and looking after you particularly well.
