So much for the speed limit in the 5km river through Killaloe. OK the cruiser has slowed but the rest just ploughed past all the moored boats in the 2 marines - gobs or what.

Nice advertisement for the Shannon Froggie /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I had a nice long weekend over Easter, Banagher to Portumna and Terryglass. Weather was glorious and reminded me why I bought the boat. Must remember to bring the camera next time. I will keep an eye out for you and introduce myself when I get down to south Derg.

Hi Jez,

I am in a marina on the River Shannon at Banagher, Co. Offaly about half way between Lough Ree to the north and Lough Derg to the south. I have a 38 ft Birchwood and I am paying 1,000 Euro pa at the moment, pay for electric quarterly. Plenty of hire companies along the length of the river if you ever want to come over and check it out.

I know the area well, the wife is from that neck of the woods. Have they finished the new club house at LRYC?

yeah passed lough ree yacht club last weekend its looking brill, its been open since last summer with new facilities in abundance a credit to all.

Looks like a really nice marina complex. What are the prices like over there?

[/ QUOTE ]Inland Cost is approx Euro €50-€60 per foot for annual berth (eg GBP£1500 PA for a 38ft cruiser) Coastal is about 50% higher

Yes the WX has been fab for the past 3 weeks now. High after high after high and almost zero rainfall. Rain on global warming - we love it! (Hmmm I hope!) Will keep a look out for you on the water. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
