I am planing a cruise from Dartmouth to the Gulf du Morbihan and onwards to Pornic from 20 August for 2 weeks plus in 2005.

Any comments on likely weather conditions, moorings and marinas

Thanks

I had five months last year cruising the Atlantic coast as far as La Rochelle in our Targa 39. The whole coast is just glorious and we've a pretty detailed knowledge of it. The jewel in the crown without a doubt is the Bay du Quiberon with Piriac to the south, the Villaine and La Roche Bernard in the east, the Golfe du Morbihan in the north and Belle Isle, Houat & Hoedic out to the west. It's just lovely.

I'd be happy to brief you over a beer or three - my boat is at Gosport - where are you?

Sorry. I have not a clue what the weather will be like on 20 Aug 2005.

However expect the posibility of fog and milions of rocks strune about all over the place, you can also expect storms and heavy rain on occasions, hopefully some sunshine. Loads of stop off points on the way down. Never quite got as far as your heading....Hope this helps!!

Great, great area with large and small marinas. If you like out of the way places try Morgat, Ile de Sein, Audierne ( up the river), Brigneau, Le Pouldu, Etel, Bono, Ille d'Artz, Penerf, Ile Dumet, Le Croisic and Pornic ( the town quays not the marina) All recommended.
