Got back last week after a three week cruise to Ireland, sometimes it pays to get away early. Arrive after first week in Bantry Bay experiancing light winds and little sea. Called at many new harbours, with moorings at no cost.
The third week was sail 40 miles then shelter for a gale to pass through.
Final few days was Kilmore Quay to Milford then a gale of wind up the chanel to Barry. Total milage 750.
Can put a few pictures on if required.
Hope to meet up at the BCYA Rally next weekend

Love to see some pictures please. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sounds great Roger, hope you didn't follow the GPS into Bear Island. The charts don't agree with the exact boat position in quite a few places over there and we entered Lawrence Cove leaving the snail trail showing on the foreshore.
We went around Ireland West coast during May before the weather broke, then onto Scotland and Orkney. Now in Edinbugh awaiting repaired injectors after picking up some mucky diesel before we head South. All downhill now

Hi Neil/Trish
Nice to hear from you, glad your cruise to date has been OK,pity about the dirty fuel
Bere Island etc. Been in several times before, boat seems to know the way. No trouble with the GPS signal
Roger

Well done Neil & Trish,
Sounds like a good trip. Give us some more info and pics. of your adventure. I pm'd you too.
Weather won't help for the next week!
Andy

Hi Roger
The GPS was OK, it seems an issue with the chart. I'm using Navionics and in the South there was some discrepancies. The AIS was showing fishing boats literally on the quay!
Ireland had the best of the weather and lots of dolphins to be seen.
Hope the summer improves for us all.

Regards

Neil
