Morning all,
After a pleasant winter in Palma, this summer i fancy Ibiza, coast hop mainland spain then over to Marroco.
Quandry is, do i come back to palma for next winter, i am lucky enough to have a port berth here which will sting me for a fair amount of cash for the 3 month high season, but is reasonable over winter (450 euros a month inc) and i generally find enough work here in winter to cover cost. Palma is getting very very expensive on living cost, and we won't even go near boat spares and parts.
So I am seriously thinking of wintering on the mainland, i did fancy almerimar but recent topics have made me think again. what are the other wintering spots.
Ideally with a bit of a community, reasonable cost, and if poss a bit of day work.
Any ideas
regards
Roy

Hello Ropy, I spent winter 2004 in Torreviejia. Abit like Blackpool ashore at times with lots of Germans and an increasing number of Russians thrown in. T'was ok though, cheap(ish) with a few live-a-boards in the marina who were all friendly. I've heard different stories but I believe the locals don't like you anchoring in the harbour now, so you may have to 'phone them about a berth before you get there. Not sure about day work, but there was a British owned chandlery there who had a live-a-board doing odd jobs for them, so you might be lucky. About 45 minutes to the airport (live-a-boards run a taxi service cheaper than locals) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif good luck
