The bilges on Hippo have always had a dribble of seawater and some spilled diesel and lube oil in there. Never really bothered me as the smell was kind of "boaty". However, a lot of rainwater got in over winter and the fluid in the bilges is now quite unpleasant. It's not an emulsion and there is only a trace of oil floating on the surface. Instead it's brown, foul-smelling goop that's not much thicker than water. The smell is distinctly sulphurous with a hint of poo.
Has anyone else encountered this? If so, how did you deal with it?
