Same here. Bearings were easily sourced from a local Bearing and Belt supplier.Having stripped mine down to the bare case I can confirm that all the gears, shafts and bearings are very heavy duty. The only parts that showed any wear or damage at all were the two bearings supporting the main shaft holding the drum and gypsy and those only needed replacement because they're exposed and salt water corroded.
Mine had also become intermittent when the foot switch was pressed. I noted that the wires going to the motor were different to those leaving the solenoid, so I rewired it direct with heavier duty wire and gave the brush contacts a good clean. Works a treat now.
