Hi

I recently bought a princess 50 which I moor in St Katherine Docks. Thinking about the winter preparation I wondered if any of the lower Thames marinas marina's would have facilities for haul out / antifoul / Engine service etc. Its a long while since I cruised that area so my knowledge of marinas is out of date and I am not even sure how far up the river the boat will get ( I saw the P62 Crunch at Richmond this year !)....so I thought I would consult the oracles :-)

Any thoughts?

Martin

Shepperton marina has a crane that could certainly lift it, and hardstanding area. As for the work required there are the local firms and several individuals who could do it.

Thanks I will take a look :-)

You will need to get your timing right though as the hardstanding is quite populated already and there are many long term boats in there. Its also the car park for basin C (whether official or otherwise). However the marina staff are great so I'm sure they will help and guide you. Although as that Barclay James Harvest track goes, "for gods sake let me move my car" :-).

P50. 20 tonnes plus fuel water and" junk "
Gilingham marina can move 65 tonnes.
