What a lovely weekend. On and off I sat down by the river watching the occasional boat go by. "My" slipway was in constant use with people whacking in Canoes, Dinghies and other small craft. I could hear kids squealing with delight as they paddled on the slipway and just now and again the faint whiff of someone's BBQ.

England in the Spring can there be a more delightful place?

I hope you were out there with your peaked hat on making sure they all had the necessary licences. The way some on here have argued that immobile old 'project' boats which are not even on the main stream should be charged full whack surely means that the innocent fun of young children in unpowered craft should also be screwed for every last penny! Bah, humbug ;)

I did see several kids with two lorry inner tubes and wondered if they had licenses and insurance. There was also kids with Nets looking for Tiddlers but they were under 12 years old so I couldn't confiscate their Nets for being unlicensed Anglers.

As a fully accredited member of The Old Fart's Brigade, I'm not sure you're allowed a vote on this one Michael! :)
