Submerged outboard recovery?

Thanks for all the advice. 2.5 Suzuki is 4 stroke.

Looks like a bit of work needed when I get down to the boat this weekend.
It's almost new. I had the last one stolen from my shed at home. Perhaps I should change from Suzukis. They don't appear to like me.

Change the engine oil as advised then. ( gear box no worry 'cos its designed to operate underwater)

Get a Seagull.. The scotes who nicked a load of outboards from the boat yard shed a year or so ago ignored the Seagulls.

If they get dunked, Seagulls not scotes, shake the water out, put in fresh fuel and start asap.

But the Op did not say he had a two stroke. He mentions draining the oil, which implies 4 stroke . Your post is the first to mention two stroke.

Not informing anybody of any known fact..... might just as well have said bollox
BOLLOX!

Vic, I replied to Penfold, are you his mouthpiece!:)
I got the impression that 2t was mentioned in relation to Honda, hence my reply. Not wishing to dish Skipper stu at all, so I agree BOLLOX!
