Stuck fuel filters

I have a pair of fleet guards and they're well and truly stuck. Any advice for loosening them safely please?

Bayonet fitting or screw for the cover ?

EDIT Do you mean stuck, as in can't undo the container, or the filters themselves are stuck after you have taken the cover off ?

Try unscrewing using a strap type filter wrench:-

Gary - I have one of these on my boat if you wish to borrow it, never let me down yet. I will be aboard tomorrow morning from ~ 10.30

If you are in a hurry, you could put a a large empty pop/water bottle (2L) around it to catch the mess and hammer a screw driver horizontally all the way through it which will give you leverage to unscrew it. Used this many times if no proper wrench available

Thanks for the advice guys, panic over, I found a filter strap wrench hidden amongst my spare belts. That with some added grunt got it moving
