Hi
I am after any information regarding a Stuart Stevens design boat, and hoping that someone on here can help me please.
I bought this as a project boat and am having difficulty finding any details about its history. The only things I know are-it is a 'Shetland' eske' type boat similar to a Family Four. The major visual difference to me, is that while a Shetland hull meets the transom at a 90(ish) degree 'square' angle, the hull on this has a pronounced tumbleholm.Allthough I've yet to measure it myself, it was sold to me as 18 foot and has a 75hp outboard mounted in a splashwell. All the research I have done so far points it to being a 'Loftus Bennet' design.Certainly, the boat seems very similar to the pics of a 'Loftus Bennet' as seen on the web, however,it seems to be bigger than the boats I have seen that have an outboard mounted. Most of the pics I've discovered show a similar maybe slightly bigger hull but with an inboard and leg.It is 2+ berth with internal mouldings for a sink area to Stbd.Steering position is on Port side in the cockpit.
Apart from whats written above, I know no more about this boat(except from what it cost me and the amount of work that has gone into it so far.-I should have known)
Any info that can be provided would be appreciated.Age,build history, reputation, options when new(re inboard v outboard),power rating, reviews etc etc.
There are no builders identification marks that I have seen and I've been right through the boat.
Thank you all.
Cheers.
