A mate of mine has Orkneyed, and is returning back during this week. The forecast isn't great, just blustery, rainy and bang on the nose. This is the conversation that we had earlier on, and perhaps why we're mates:

Personally I would wait until Wednesday when the wind turns favourable and generally improving. IS there a reason he has to get back earlier and have a miserable trip?

I try to avoid Wick on principle, as their pricing starts at a minimum boat length of 10m, which is a rip off in my eyes as I own a GK24.
Being knowingly and obviously ripped off in Wick, which isn't Manhattan or Las Vegas, or sailing?
Not exactly a tricky choice requiring a roll of the dice!
