You want nitrile. Strongly recommended based on a lot of experience are Ansell Tough n Touch nitrile. The absolute dogs do dahs of disposible gloves - especially the un powdered ones which dont suck all the moisture out of your hands

I think it was vinyl I bought from Toolsation and they tore easily. Halo, thank you for the recommendation, I have bought some nitrile off Ebay (not of the make you recommend unfortunately) and will see how I get on.
I generally use heavy duty Marigolds as they can be taken off many times during a job. In case anyone doesn't know, the easiest way to turn them right way out again is to hold them by the wrist and move the air around inside to pop the fingers back out.
Costco do some nitrile gloves that are thicker and much more durable than most disposables. They are more expensive (~£8/100) but worth it for heavy duty jobs.
