I read that and thought of the several people who claim that they will take their genoa down and put their storm jib up the roller furling luff in high winds...
Its a good description of what sailing handling on a foredeck in heavy winds really can be like. (And he was doing it in warm water...!)

Faintly embarrassed to note that the 'early padre catches the......' and I really ought to get going quicker in the morning! 
Useful article, cueing me to take my shiny new 'one careful owner' bright yellow storm jib out onto the lawn, remove the piston hanks, and fit these....

Leave the sailbag below, have a wichard snap hook on the tack and separate jib sheets. No problemo.

Stop the jib with wool. Likewise the trysail. Hoist stopped, break it out once you're back in the cockpit.
