I'm trying to strip tatty old vinyl stripes off the (grp) hull just above the waterline, with a view to replacing them. But they are proving hard to shift. Scraping doesn't achieve much, nor does solvent. Would moderate heat do the trick? Thanks in anticipation.

I had this problem, I just painted over the coachlines using enamel paint, real tatty before, but came up good as new.

Hi I’m with Ian
We use hot air gun, then we use pre-paint to get rid of adhesive, also use pre-paint before applying new vinyl, as it doesn’t attack the paint surface! When applying new graphics use a small plastic plant spray (fine mist) filled with a mixture of meths washing up liquid and water, float on graphics and plastic squeegee off.

Good luck
