Stripping old varnish - Nitromors or what?

As the OP of the thread referred to in #4 above, I followed up one of the suggestions and bought some Paramose. Works a treat. PM me if you want to know where to get it.
 
Definitely not. This guy was stripping antique furniture not pine doors. Not sure what he used but it wasn't your basic caustic solution dip
Thanks. A bit more care taken then, caustic is always my first guess (same way I usually guess oxalic for various marine cleaners). Might be something like triethylphosphate. I vaguely remember someone using that many years back for a "home job". I think it was used as a catalyst in a plant. I worked in a different area so my lab. didn't use it.

I doubt that's a component of new "improved formula" (i.e. Useless) Nitromors.
