Stripe Tape Removal

Hi
Has anyone got any experience in stripe tape removal I need to remove a silver / chrome stripe down both sides of my yacht, the tape is set in a half round grove and has been badly affected by the sun.

The cove line tape can normally be removed by gently warming it with a hair drier or heat gun, dont over heat or becomes a mess.
