Strange goings on in the sky

I was sailing into Porto Vecchio in the night last week when I saw this in the sky. A straight line of objects with a greeny colour. Looked like a row of satellites in formation.

Never seen before.

Wow, well done for capturing an image! Years ago I was on a transfer bus somewhere on Med coast (no idea where now!) and saw a greenish fireball whizz across the sky. I imagine you saw one in the process of breaking up. No idea who would be interested in a report of location and time; there are networks of observers...

It's going to become more and more common as they ramp up deployment. For those wishing to do celestial nav the number of human made objects in the sky may start to cause issues in the near future, although the trade off of reliable global comms seems worthwhile
