stranded exmouth beach. . .

......and after all that we have heard about MAB's being soooooomuch more seaworthy than AWB's...... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It was back in september and the boat was completely destroyed a few days after being stranded in a particularly nasty gale. Very unfortunate as it appears they were going to Torbay, heard a bad wind forecast when almost there and then tried to enter the Exe for the first time at night with dire consequences.

Proves (yet again) the old chesnut that its better to stay offshore than attempt an unfamiliar entrance in bad weather.

the word "nuts" springs to mind!

Re read what I said, not quite correct, when they entered the Exe the wind was nowhere near as bad as the forecast so they'd have been fine/much better carrying on, it was the gale a few days later that destroyed the boat.

Yes not really advisable, even after 1lmost 15 years of being based there I still don't relish the prospect of a night time entry. Too many unlit buoys.
