It was back in september and the boat was completely destroyed a few days after being stranded in a particularly nasty gale. Very unfortunate as it appears they were going to Torbay, heard a bad wind forecast when almost there and then tried to enter the Exe for the first time at night with dire consequences.

Re read what I said, not quite correct, when they entered the Exe the wind was nowhere near as bad as the forecast so they'd have been fine/much better carrying on, it was the gale a few days later that destroyed the boat.
Yes not really advisable, even after 1lmost 15 years of being based there I still don't relish the prospect of a night time entry. Too many unlit buoys.
