Considered the bow roller extension and gave up, without an extension there is no way I can do it with my low furling gear. So I have decided to use some universal anchor chocks fastened to the old triangular danforth style anchor lid. Any thoughts on which is the best way round to stow. Shank forward or not? Which way round would take most impact from a wave over the bow? Thoughts and suggestions please?

I would stow it in such a way so that you could pick it up in a hurry. I reckon that would be shank towards the stern. I would not worry about waves hitting it unduly as I assume you would stow it secured.
