I'm thinking of replacing the Stowe log head unit that I have with a ST40 unit. Main reason is that I have a ST40 depth unit which I'm very happy with and I'd like to have matching units for largely aesthetic reasons.
The Stowe paddle wheel seems to work well enough (when it's clean!) so in an ideal world I'd just connect it in to the ST40 head. Can anyone tell me if this is likely to work? I have an ancillary reason for wanting to do this; the Stowe transducer goes through a nice bronze tube which is best practice for a wooden boat, so I wouldn't want to replace it with a plastic through-hull.
