Stowe Navigator 2, not giving any speed reading, just showing zeros.

Checked the paddle wheel was spinning before the boat went back in,
Didn't inspect paddle wheel very carefully so cannot comment on weights.

The long grey cable from the paddle wheel fitting to the instrument has had its outer (grey) insulation rubbed off,( red insulation still looks intact, no bare wire showing) where it was trapped under a sliding drawer. That part of the cable also got wet.

There is plenty of spare length in the cable. Would it make any difference if I shortened the cable, or having cut out the damaged section rejoined it?

Is it possible that I put the paddle wheel fitting in back to front ?

Any other suggestions as to where the fault might be ?

Thanks

You need to dry out alongside a quay somewhere & get someone to physically spin the wheel to see if there is a response at the readout. If not, check magnets, & connections. A sensitive multi-meter may well tell you if there is any output from the sender.

Is it possible to access the sender from inside the boat, ie pull it out & plug hole quickly so that you can play with sender while looking at read out?
