Stowe Dataline wind instrument

Display unit for my Stowe Dataline wind has packed up again, had it repaired for an arm and a leg 2 years ago and had it looked at recently but seems the problem may be terminal. So I'm looking for a cockpit display head in working order - anyone got any thoughts?

I have my own Dataline issues and just phoned A W marine on 02392 501207 for help as they are the service agents now Stowe don't exsist.

I had these on my last yacht, with similar problems. As far as I remember Simrad units IS15 & IS12 ? also fit this setup. Stowe became Robertson for a while then taken over by Simrad and I think the transducers etc. are basically the same.

New ones on eBay now...

There are some new ones currently on eBay at £58.50 "Buy it now" price inc postage. I bet that'll be loads cheaper than AW Marine, too! See item 230039897522 - they're Robertson-branded so they don't show up on a search for Stowe.

I recently bought a boat with these instruments on and one the displays is labelled "Central". I have no idea what this is supposed to do so can you help me with this please? There are no manuals whatsoever. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Dataline Central manual...

I have a manual for the Dataline Central, which is basically a display which can show any of the information present on the Dataline network. If you'd like to send me a PM with your email address, I'll send you a copy.

"Central" unit can display any info from your other unit, in varios format/combinations, in 8 screen groups/up to 4 screens each group, 19 combinations in all. Speed/depth log/temp/ WP/cog/sog/bearimg to Wp etc, depending what other sensor are fitted. WP function require GPS to be interfaced via the Databox.

I have PDf of manuals for Databox & Central, and paper copies of SDX, Wind, Tack.

[/ QUOTE ]I think you're referring to the DatalineX system - the earlier Dataline system had fewer options on the Central display. Maybe jimbo666 needs to clarify which he has.
