This is a long shot, but after re-fitting the interior I am now rewiring a few items and this includes my Stowe dateline log. I have the instructions and the colours of the wires are marked where to go. Red, white, brown, green and black. Problem is that my wires have the following colours: Green, blue, purple, red and orange! I never thought to make note of how these corresponded and now I don’t know where they go. Any ideas?

Is this the display wiring or the transducer wiring.

I have the IS11 setup whch is simular to the last Stowe setup I have a databox and if same setup have all docs but need more detailed info on your exact setup, pics may help

Sorry I was not clear. This is the log transducer wire to the Databox.

It seems the wire must have been replaced at some stage, but not by me - hence never really noted the colours when I took it apart. The databox has all the wire colours marked on it - the problem is that they don't correspond to my wire's colours

Ok I see.

My transducer wire seems sealed into the unit so if yours has been changed can the transducer be opened or is there a covered join in the wire you may be able to open to see change in wire connections.

I do know the 3 of the wires are for the speed and 2 for temp senser. Of the 3 speed wires 1 is 12V one is 0v and the third is speed signal frequency.

My transducer is same as raymarine so if anyone from raymarine knows haw to determine which wire is which from testing signals with multimeter that may be your only option unless you can get inside to see connections.

The problem is not at the transducer end but at the dataline databox end. The transducer itself is sealed, but the "black box" has a number of imputs that are clearly colour coded. It is here where I dont know where to connect to. I don't want to pull the box apart as its a sealed unit. I suspect maybe I dont have the original transducer hence the difference. Thanks for your help but I will keep on investigating before I open the box!

I think you are right about the transducer as my raymarine transducer had the same colour coding as my databox.
My databox is noy sealed so I could open it up a take a pic if it will help you.
I do have the manual somewhere if I come across it I can scan the wire diagram and email it to you.
Found databox connection
Red V+
Black 0V
Blue B/S (boat speed ?)
White Temp
Yellow Temp
Do not know your transducer connections
Hope this helps

Thanks for your efforts.

I have done a search on Stowe and found that A W Marine of Haslar are now the service agents for Stowe. I have sent them a mail and will try and ring them tomorrow as they must know. So in the meantime don't go to the trouble of opening up your databox. Infact, not sure how much that would help given that I need to know what each wire does on the transducer to match it to the box. So really the issue is not in the box but identifying what each colour does on the transducer cable.

I have stowe navigator 2 and a folder of wiring diagrams. Don't know if its any help, but I can copy them and send them to you. I know one of my wires is orange.

Well Just phoned A W Marine - the service agents (02392 501207). They suspect I have a different transducer to the one they supply (but mine did work at some stage) - not at the boat for a another few weekends and they need photos so I will update you on how I get along then... I suspect they will try and flog me a new transducer.
