Have recently bought a Polish built (1978) Conrad-24. The design is believed to be Dufour. The latter have been approached but would not respond, apparently this one is too obsolete to dig up easily from the archives.
The Gdansk boatyard in Poland allegedly named these boats after Juzef Korenevski who emigrated to the West working as a seaman on commercial vessels of various flags and wrote stories about the sea under a pen-name Josef Conrad.
Being a 5-year subscriber of the PBO I have never come across even a mere mention of the Conrad-24, this despite her still being very sporty and extremely capable of heading 'against' the wind. On shorter legs she can beat obvious favourites by means of sparing an extra tack.
Would much appreciate to hear smth on her history and background. Thanks.
