There's no stopping me now I've got the hang of this web link thingy . .

Have a look at <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.metservice.co.nz/severe_weather/summer0102_3.asp>http://www.metservice.co.nz/severe_weather/summer0102_3.asp</A>

Been a few "Huey's" on the ferry, I'm thinking ! !

Umm, the worst ferry trip I had was Guernsey to Weymouth a few Xmas's ago and that had all except 6 of us pukking. But this is horrific, I am surprised they left in this.
Must have been some damage I'd guessed.

Re: Old Stornoway ferry

Nah it was the Hengist which used to be a cross channel ferry and got pensioned off.
It went aground at Folkestone after a horrendous storm in the early 80'. This was on a TV program the other week where they bought all of the crew involved back together. Interveiwing the Captain he was saying that in the port they were snapping 4 inch warps and he ran out of replacements so had to cast off. Then a Genny broke loose, smashed all the electrics and drifted ashore!
