Very stormy here in Marmaris today. Came from Lorymar through big waves and black skies and too much wind! Met a couple last night on a flot who had three days tuition last week and are now let loose with a yacht in bad conditions. We saw the flot leave this morning heading for Serce. Madness!
 
Bad thunderstorms up north here in Sigacik too. No wind to 34k in 10 seconds this morning, black skies and heavy rain. Now the sun is out again and calm. Glad we are in the marina for it though. In spite of it all a local Turkish boat with family have left to start their holiday cruise a few minutes ago!
 
It seems that there is more to come later in the week,so hang on to your hats.
The forecast certainly got it right.

And all far more qualified than me , ON PAPER :rolleyes:
 
Not according to windfinder,have a look at the forecast from Friday for Kos for example..very windy right through the weekend.Poseidon also shows some unsettled weather .

Even as I speak...7.30 am .raining hard and blowing from NE strong enough to shake the boat on its cradle.
(we are now in the yard,going home soon)
As I said earlier it would seem that there is more bad weather to come,but fairly widespread.

what we have just seen is pretty much par for the course and not too bad in the grand scheme, here are a couple of weather pages that are pretty good although they are sometimes a bit light on wind speed - we add 10 kts

The thread relates to Marmaris not Kos and with Northerlies and the mountains just what I would expect.Wherever you are certainly looks like time to dig out the blankets.
