Out right now in Sant Carles during the rain storm last night. Some reports say 7 inches fell in less than 12 hours. Even then a LOT of water flowed through the towns streets.

It was the town's Origins festival that they have every year here at this time.
We had a really nice Sunday lunch out in a restaurant along the sea front before the rain started.

Then the emergency warnings went off on our mobile phones and we were told to stay away from rivers and ravines. I stayed put on the boat. 4G and 5G continued to work well and it was safe on the boat in the marina.

In the past, SCM.has missed these Spanish floods but this time it hit us right on the nose.

More footage in this clip
And a fairly accurate report

Sant Carles was recently renamed to La Rapita but we keep the name Sant Carles Marina.
There are two marinas in the area - SCM and the town marina
In the above report they refer to boats breaking free in the floods.
That would be the town marina.
SCM is about 500m from the town with a drainage channel in between.
Apart from brown water throughout our marina, I think we escaped - most of our berths are floating pontoons - unlike most Med marinas.

The restaurant that we went to yesterday (just a walk away but we took the car!!) was completely underwater later.
We drove back before the rain fully broke.

unfortunately it becomes the norm.
Reminds me too much of the floods we had here in Volos two yrs ago Storm Daniel - Wikipedia
hope not too many affected and minimal casualties - in our case some bodies were never recovered and couple of bodies found 30+ nm in the sea from where they went missing inland :-(
