It seems their website is down. Their Facebook page is active but doesn't really give any info for someone thinking of joining.

I'm looking for somewhere to launch and give access to the blackwater for my small day boat. I'm not really into watersports as such, although I do a bit of fishing. Just wondering if the club is somewhere that I could join, or is it all jet skis and wake boarding? Are there other members who aren't into high adrenaline watersports? Would I be accepted in my little boat that can only make about 15 knots with the wind behind me?

Just looking for a friendly place to launch, recover and maybe get involved socially.

I looked at one of the sailing clubs along the same bit of coast, but they have a strict 'no motorboat' policy.

Cheers

Was hoping a member or two might show up, as quite like the idea of joining somewhere with facilities and other likeminded people. was hoping to get a feel for the place. If not, I guess I can always take a drive over there and see who is around.

Access to the jetski/speedboat area is locked by the club. Members only. Tollesbury Marina slip is very steep, the marina will charge and you need to register and pay for car parking. The company who monitor the car parking are 'orrible. Take away delivery peeps have been fined. The marina has a sill so at low water you can't get in or out. You can launch off the end of the road outside of the marina but I don't know how practical that is or if it is organised. There is a slip at Bradwell marina, charges apply but there is parking. The slip is well used and well organised. Give them a call. Easy to get out of the Creek and I guess you don't draw much so you might not be restricted at all or at worst for an hour either side of the LW.

The Stone Watersports is more of a waterskiing and pwc club. There are very few places on the Blackwater where you can launch at any or most states if the tide. If you are restricted to only, say, two hours at HW you will be forever frustrated trying to match tide times, the weather and your availability so you can launch and not having to continually watch the time for getting back. Like Tillergirl, I recommend Bradwell marina who have an excellent slip you can use at any state of tide and get in and out of the marina in a small launch at any time other than significant low water springs. There is a charge to launch. There is no club specific to your type of boating as most are more focused on sailing but in Bradwell marina there are probably 20 boats used for fishing so there is a good community and always someone around in the marina to chat to about fishing and fishing boats. There are loos, a bar/ restraunt and a fast-food kiosk on site.

PS. I believe the Stone watersports club restrict the type of vehicle that can be used to launch from their site.

I know that slip in Maldon (above). It doesn't look much use for anything more than dinghies etc. I also think car parking may be a problem. Promenade park car park is not 24hr IIRC, which considering you need to work the tides is not useful.
