Just back from visiting family in Ireland and will pottering around this morning noticed our Mariner 4 missing
Considering its 12 ft off the ground on the aft rail was a bit suprised as we handnt left a ladder and it was locked.
Went to the office to report it and the manager said " oh dear yeah we had about 10 stollen over two weekends five or six weeks ago"
Just wonder when or if they where or are going to contact other owners in their marina to ask the to check their boats for missing items.
Am I being a little OTT to expect that boat owners here are now paying top dollar for berths, storage, moorings that some sort of security should be provided in that cost. Those of you that know this place (Fambridge yacht haven) know that its wide open.
That said I do like the place and given the choice between this and other marina developments I would chose this every time, my moan in that over the last 5 year lots of improvements have been made and prices have rapidly caught and passed other places but little of nothing has been done to secure boats and equipment.
The managers parting comment as i left the office "really sorry about that" does not fill me full of confidance for heading off for three months leaving my investment in his care.
