Are they not what they once were, or was it only ever my perception that they produced real quality kit, and backed it up with superb support?
The last two items I bought from them, failed just outside of warranty, and they never replied to enquires.
I've just spoken with another skipper who's also had similar issues.
Anyone else?

I had an inverter pack up and Charles answered the phone, advising me to send it back on return to UK. When I phoned for repair address, woman who answered said "I wish Charles wouldn't speak to customers, we won't repair anything out of warranty". Due to their attitude I no longer buy Sterling products.

I deliberately won’t fit Sterling kit unless specifically instructed to by the customer on pleasure boats. Under no circumstances do I fit it to any small commercial boats that I work on - only Mastervolt or if needed, Victron chargers.

Well may just be luck, I've had several items from Sterling over the years and they've all been good. Also they have been very helpful with advice when I've needed it. In fact the original Sterling charger which I replaced with a larger one, is now running all my garden lights and pond pump, it's on 24/7 and doesn't seem to complain. I can only speak as I find.
