I posted some time ago regards our plan to but a motor boat around 45 - 50' flybridge and spend this year in the UK and then off to part liveaboard in the Med either 2019 or 2020 . We have been a little unlucky, well, to be more precise, have had a rubbish broker who got several things wrong and so can't raise as much as we were first told .

Anyhoo, we are now looking up to £150k but ideally around the £125k mark. I am constantly scouring the UK for boats. We saw 2 at the weekend but due to observations from a reputable engineer were put off of one of them and the other I believe to be too expensive no matter what bells and whistles have been added. In fact, due to a very quiet market, it looks like many of the boats are over-priced. I am now seriously considering buying in France or Spain. Does anyone know about Doqueve, specifically the Majestic 46.

Cheers

I know them - see them around quite a lot on mainland Spain.
seem to be well screwed together, heavy build much like Astondoa. Sadly went out of business when the building boom failed in 2008.

have a search for Astondoa 46 as well - flybridge isn't as big as the majestic but otherwise similar and a good boat.
also try the topbarcos.com website - it's in Spanish but pretty obvious how to use it if you don't speak the language. Often a few bargains on there.

IMO, If you want to use a boat in the Med and you live in the UK, you need to think of it as a "home from home".
There is one boat that always sticks in my mind as fulfilling this requirement and it would probably fit into your budget.
It is the Sealine F43.
Been around for a long time so there are lots of examples out there.
The F43 has an aft (full beam) cabin which makes it very comfortable.
A design WAY ahead of its time when it was designed.
I've never owned one myself but I know a few people who have.
For its length, the accommodation is fantastic.
Med spec ones will have air conditioning.
There were a two options - one with a third cabin - one with the space of the third cabin made into a dinette (which doubles as a third cabin).
Have a serious look at the Sealine F43
I believe that it is also short enough to fit onto a 12m berth so will save on berthing costs.
The people that I know that either have them or have owned them, love them.
