Seems strange that Sunsail and the Moorings in the Windies will not sell you a one week holiday, only 2 weeks.....
You could also try Barefoot Yachts in St Vincent - they will (I am sure) definitely be happy to let you have a boat for a week.
www.barefootyachts.com

Maybe also consider a shorebased sailing holiday on dinghies, eg at Club Colonna in Antigua with Sunsail?

Try seamaster-trainingcentre.com It just so happens that my intelligence sources have revealed there is space on the 17 th Feb for a week in the sunny Canaries!!

wud be traveling by myself so chartering wouldnt suit... can go back to the canaries but was there twice last year....was kinda looking for a week in the carribean......

thanks though...any other suggestions??? was thinking there must be lots of school boats in the carribean that have done the ARC....but so far no luck...

If you can take 10 days off, how about a voyage on a tall ship out of Barbados?
Ideal for single folk, and it is good fun - the TSYT brig Stavros will be doing 4 voyages for oldies (ie anybody over 18, and under 75) from here commencing early next month - they are half way across the Atlantic at the moment, should get here from the Canaries around Friday.

was looking for small boat sailing to be honest..but thanks...any other suggestions?? there must be a school boat etc in the carribean that does it?

Dinghies at the Sunsail Club in Antigua perhaps?
Or are they a bit too small......
They would be good fun though, and a wide choice of kit, windsurfers as well.

The UKSA in Cowes used to send one or two of their boats out here every winter - have you tried contacting them?

ahaa nope just looked at their website and couldn't see anything about the caribbean...maybe i missed it...will double check...yep more of a cruiser man myself....thanks...

Although you are more of a cruising chap, how about attending a regatta? Be warned, the sailing is the easy bit - what is much more dangerous and treacherous are the beach parties afterwards.....

The LaSource sailing regatta is on in Grenada from January 25 -29th - the odds are good of finding a boat to sail on if you pitch up, altho it is rather short notice. Have a look at http://www.grenadasailingfestival.com/
They also have a crew board.

The Heineken Regatta is on in St Maarten in early March - more info at http://www.heinekenregatta.com/

And the Bequia Easter Regatta is always good fun - its on from the 20th - 24th March (although I am sure you want to abscond from high latitudes before then!) - http://www.begos.com/easterregatta/

Log on to the Nielson website, they have a chat room where you can post what you're after. There's usually loads of people floating around (excuse the pun) on there so you might get lucky.

Happy Hunting, good luck
